Work With Us

If you believe exercise should be meaningful, inclusive, and not just about repertoire, reps and building strength- we might be the right studio for you.

We're Hiring!

Room for Movement is driven by purpose. We exist to provide a movement and exercise environment that caters for a variety of bodies, particularly people who’ve never found a place where they feel their needs have been understood.

Our services are structured in a way that allows us to get to know our clients and understand what they really want out of moving their body with os. Group classes are capped at 7, and semi-privates are a conservative 1:3 ratio- allowing more time for communication and problem solving of more complex needs. This intentional choice to keep sessions small is a reflection of our values as a business- placing our people at the top of our priorities.
We offer a movement space that contrasts most of the movement/Pilates industry- and we want to support bodies with more nuanced needs, variations in learning needs, and a preference for something more than just a ‘fitness class’.

Business Values

As the director I’m committed to cultivating a workplace where employees grow and learn, and feel aligned to the work they are doing. Good pay, recognition of work well done, monthly training and staff classes, free group classes/semiprivate sessions, and breezy processes make for a workplace of transparency and belonging.

  • We straddle the intersection of mental health, physical fitness, allied health and feminism and we don’t mind getting philosophical about movement in general.
  • We reject diet culture and homogenised fitness culture- we place value on improving physical function for longevity and facilitating self embodiment and autonomy in movement experiences.
  • We are conscious of our environmental footprint, and aim to tread lightly on the planet.
  • As we work to respect our own bodies in this studio, we commit also, to respecting the enduring connection Indigenous people have to Country- acknowledging that we are operating on unceded Gadigal and Wangal Country is one small part of that.
