Personalised Sessions

A weekly appointment with your teacher, who designs a class just for you. These sessions will become the rhythm in your week, a chance to connect mind and body, address aches and pains, and work towards your personal movement and fitness goals.

What are personalised Pilates sessions?

Also known as clinical or studio Pilates, these are highly individualised sessions in a fully equipped Pilates Studio.

Starting with an Initial Consultation, we’ll get to know your body, injury history and personal movement goals. You’ll then meet your teacher at the same time every week for a private, duet, or a semi-private (3 people) appointment

Privates

Just you and your teacher’s full attention. A deeply tailored Pilates session designed and adapted to your unique and evolving needs. Privates allow time for troubleshooting pain, answering questions, and fine tuning the exercises to feel just right for you.

Duets

The flexibility to share your teacher’s time with a partner or friend. You’ll both get the individual support and encouragement your bodies need but with the added joy of sharing an activity together each week.

Semi-Privates

A session shared with up to two others. Your teacher will guide each of you individually through exercises chosen specifically for your own body. These sessions strike a gentle balance between being highly tailored and cost-effective.

Personalised sessions are perfect if you...

Prefer moving at your own pace

If you like time to ask questions, take a break when you need it, and prefer not to have to ‘keep up’ with other people, these sessions are designed for you.

Are living with persistent pain

Personalised sessions are the perfect exercise environment for working with and around pain. Our approach often results in less pain and improved function.

Describe yourself as neurodivergent

If you’re neurodivergent, your teacher will adapt to your sensory and motor needs with multi modal guidance that facilitates interoception and an understanding of your body.

Want to work with the same teacher every week

Work with someone who gets to know your body better each week, plans exercises just for you, keeps notes on your progress, and is invested in your development.

Are new to holistic movement, or returning to exercise after a break

If you’re just starting out or returning to Pilates, the detailed guidance in these sessions is the ideal way to build strong foundations and confidence in your movement.

Manage a health condition or disability

From multiple sclerosis, to Ehlers Danlos, osteoporosis and scoliosis, personalised sessions can adapt to the nuances of many conditions. Unfortunately, our studio is not wheelchair accessible.

These sessions are not for you if..

  • You want to blend into a crowd.
  • You want to ‘transform’ how your body looks.
  • You don’t like corrections or adjustments.
  • You want to focus only on strength or one body area.

Building a body fit for the future requires more than just pushing harder and faster – Our holistic approach will challenge your whole body, and movement skills like balance, coordination, and control, as well as core control, mobility and strength.

Still not sure if personalised sessions align with your goals?

If your movement is relatively pain free and you’re able to: get up and down from the floor quickly; easily lay on your back, side and front; and can be on hands and knees, then you might find our small group reformer classes to be a good fit.

3 classes for $60 with no obligation to continue.

How to book personalised Pilates

Personalised appointments run Monday through Saturday. They require an initial consultation followed by an ongoing commitment to a weekly appointment time. For a list of the available recurring appointment times, contact the team.

FAQ

What is Personalised Pilates?

Private, Duet or Semi Private sessions are all “Personalised sessions”. We use the mat, reformer, chair, trapeze table, and Pilates props in a 55 minute appointment designed specifically around your body.

There’s lots of time to get into detail, find the right exercises for your body, and for you to ask questions and move at your preferred pace.

Clinical Pilates is another term for Personalised Pilates.

Other common terms are: Equipment Pilates, Studio Pilates, or Private Pilates

Your teacher will use a variety of Pilates machines during a clinical/personalised class- all depending on what they think you need. They will choose from the mat, reformer, chair, trapeze table, armchair, ladder barrel and an array of Pilates props.

You will not use ALL the Pilates equipment at every session and instead you teacher will be guided by your body as to what will benefit you most.

The only assumed level of fitness is that you can climb the two stairs into our studio. There’s no assumed prior knowledge or fitness level- it’s literally our job to meet you where you’re at and guide you along the way.

You can book in your Initial Consultation via the website or simply register here and our team will be in touch.

Personalised sessions run from 7am through to 8pm Mon-Thu, and 7am- Lunch Fri-Sat. Once you’ve had your IC we’ll choose a mutually suitable weekly appointment time to fit you into. You can always ask about availability by calling or dropping us an email, it’s unusual for us not to be able to accommodate someones schedule.

During an Initial Consultation we methodically lay down the foundations of movement specific to you. Your teacher will use their in-depth knowledge and skill set to determine what movements will best suit and support your body. For those clients with injuries, acute and chronic pain, Initial consultations allow your teacher to build a strong portfolio of movements to help you move with us safely and recommend the best way forward for your movement journey with us in your Personalised sessions.

Easy. Just log in to your account through the RFM website or access the Mindbody app, go to your bookings and simply cancel. We have a 24 hour cancellation window for all personalised sessions. If you are unable to make it please cancel 24 hours prior your sessions commencing. Any cancellations made within 24 hours are deemed a “late cancellation”. (see What is a late cancellation?)

We fully support holidays and completely understand that sometimes life happens and you can’t make it to a session. Just let us know with a minimum of 24 hours notice where possible if you are unable to make it into the studio. If you cancel your session within 24 hours it is deemed a late cancellation.

Semi privates are the most affordable way to access personalised Pilates training. You’ll share the session with up to two others, each working on your own body.

The most common path is an Initial Consultation (IC), two private sessions, and then weekly semi privates. At the end of your IC your teacher will advise what’s most suited to your body, learning and goals, but ultimately it’s up to you.

All classes and personalised sessions must be prepaid online. There are a variety of available payment options with Packages and Memberships being the most popular depending on how often you attend and how much flexibility you require.

There are many benefits to signing up for a Membership with us and moving intentionally and consistently every week – its where the magic happens AND how you’ll get the most out of your investment!

Memberships also come with the flexibility of suspending if you’re heading away, member only discounts and priority bookings.
