Room for Movement is a proud member of the ACON Welcome Here Project. We are an inclusive health and fitness space and welcome diversity in all forms: race, culture, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexuality, body size, religion, and ability. LGBTIQ diversity is welcomed + celebrated in our studio.
Room For Movement is aligned with the Pilates Association Australia. All of our instructors adhere to the strict 'Code of Ethics' and 'Scope of Practice Guidelines' set out by the association. This means you’ll receive high quality instruction from a team who have sought out the highest level of Pilates education available to them and strive for high professional standards across all aspects of their work.
Almost all of our instructors are certified by Polestar Pilates. Considered “the gold standard for Pilates Instructor Certification all around the world” the course offers a supportive network of mentors and studios to support students through their training. Room For Movement is proud to be part of this network of instructors and studios. Under supervision at all times you might meet an apprentice teacher while they observe the teacher in a session, or while doing a practice session for themselves. As they get to the more advanced stages of their training you might score some one on one guidance within a semiprivate or duet apprentice instructor too.
Our studio is affiliated with the ‘Center for Women’s Fitness’. Over the course of 25 years the Center has developed a method for training the body safely and effectively through the pre and post natal stages of a woman’s life. Most of our teachers are certified ‘Pre and Post-Natal Pilates Specialists’ through the Center’s qualification process, and we implement their method for ‘Diastatsis Recti’ recovery into our post natal group classes and clinical sessions - these incorporate Pilates movement, breathing techniques and myofascial release techniques designed to facilitate the body through the changes of pregnancy, preparation for birth and into the fourth trimester.
